T-Mobile has added a bare-bones plan called T-Mix Saver to its new T-Mix lineup. It costs $55 a month for one line or $100 for two lines, the most the plan allows. That is $5 more for one line and $20 more for two than Essentials Saver 2.0, the plan it replaces.
What changed
T-Mix is a new set of unlimited-data plans that replace Experience 2.0 and Essentials 2.0. The main plans are Standard, More and Loaded. They come with Picks, which are perks such as Apple TV or DashPass by DoorDash. Saver is the stripped-down option with no Picks at all.
- 50GB of fast data, then unlimited data at slower speeds
- Unlimited hotspot at 3G speeds
- Streaming video in SD (480p) quality
- Bring your number from another carrier: $30 for one line, $65 for two
Prices include AutoPay and do not include taxes and fees.
How it compares
The Standard plan costs $55 for one line and $85 for two. It includes one Pick for a single line and two Picks for two lines. Its data is the same as Saver. So for one line, the price matches. For two lines, Standard costs $15 less than Saver, based on the prices listed.
What is not known yet
The material does not say whether current Essentials Saver 2.0 customers will be moved to the new plan automatically, or when. T-Mobile's marketing chief, Allan Samson, said the plan is for a small share of customers who mainly want the best 5G network.
The takeawayBefore choosing T-Mix Saver for two lines, check Standard, which costs $15 less and adds Picks.
