Electronic Arts has quietly brought back 25 classic PC games, and they are on sale until November 19. Separately, the next Elder Scrolls game now has a name: Sentinel. There is still no release date for it. OpenAI also updated its image tool so it can make animated GIFs.

What EA released

The collection is on Steam and GOG, two big online stores for PC games. Prices are discounted on both until November 19. Seven of the 25 games are remastered. EA says those versions have fully relicensed soundtracks, original video cutscenes, upscaled cutscenes and other changes so they run well on modern PCs.

The report says the Ultima games are in the mix. That is notable because the series' creator, Richard Garriott, is expected to regain control of the franchise in 2027. The release came a week after EA shut down BioWare.

The Elder Scrolls VI gets a name

Bethesda Game Studios says the next game is called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. It is an open world role-playing game set in Hammerfell, a province of Tamriel. Sentinel is also a city on Hammerfell's northwest coast.

The game was first announced in 2018. The last main entry, Skyrim, came out in 2011. Fans have waited a long time, and Bethesda has shared the name and logo but no launch date. Rumors suggest it may be another two years away. That is only a rumor.

OpenAI's image update

OpenAI says people make 4 billion images per week using ChatGPT, Codex and its developer tools. That is about half a billion a day. Its new Images 2.6 model can create animated GIFs from a written prompt. OpenAI says it is also up to 50% faster at making pictures.

It is available worldwide to all ChatGPT and Codex users on desktop, mobile and the web. Developers can reach it through the API as GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and Sunburst.
