Google offers free short AI video courses for finance and legal staff

Google has added free video courses on its Gemini AI tool for people who work in finance and in law. The courses are on Google Skills, the company's site for learning AI. Google Cloud announced them in a blog post on Friday, Oct. 30.

What is in the courses

There are two separate bundles. The financial services bundle has four videos of 15 minutes each. The legal bundle has five videos of 15 minutes each. Google says both are free.

Gary Eimerman of Google Cloud Learning said the videos start with use cases viewers probably know and show how to use Gemini to get work done more efficiently.

A next step for hands-on practice

Google also has a free program called Gemini Agent Ready, or GEAR. It offers skill badges and validation of real-world experience. People who register get 35 credits to try interactive training environments. Google describes this as a risk-free space to build and test agentic AI, meaning AI set up to carry out tasks.

Context and what is unknown

In August, Google Cloud launched AI tools for the financial services and legal industries. Rivals Anthropic and OpenAI have also released products for financial services.

The post does not say how long the courses will stay free. It also does not say what a team needs to sign up or how much the tools cost once training is done.
