Google has released free video training aimed at finance and legal workers who want to use its Gemini AI assistant. The courses are on Google Skills, Google's learning site, and cost nothing to watch. Google Cloud announced them on its blog. They are built around everyday tasks, such as reviewing contracts or preparing for a client meeting.
What is in the finance bundle
Google describes four short courses for financial services teams. They cover advisor insights, portfolio resilience, bond issuance and credit market opportunities. Google's example is a financial advisor with a new client meeting in 20 minutes. Reading hundreds of pages of SEC filings by hand is not possible in that time. Google says Gemini can do it in two minutes.

- Uncover Credit Market Opportunities with Gemini
What is in the legal bundle
Google says the legal bundle has five bite-size courses, but its post names only three. They cover regulatory horizon scanning (watching for new rules that could affect you), contract review and playbook creation, and data and DSAR responses. A DSAR is usually a request from a person asking a company what data it holds about them.
Google's main example is contract review. You set your compliance standards, then have Gemini check agreements against them. Gemini flags violations, explains why they break the standards and suggests a fix.
A step beyond the basics
For teams that find the lessons too basic, Google points to its Gemini Agent Ready program, called GEAR. It is also free. Members can earn skill badges and get 35 credits for interactive training environments on Google Skills. Google calls this a risk-free space to build and test agentic AI, meaning AI that can carry out tasks with some independence.
What is not clear
Google does not say how long each course runs beyond calling them bite-sized. It also does not say whether using Gemini itself on real work carries a cost. The two-minute claim is Google's own example, and the post offers no independent testing of how accurate Gemini is on legal or financial documents.
Who should look
The lessons are most relevant for businesses that handle contracts, compliance reviews or client money. Because they are free, they offer a low-risk way to judge whether AI could save your team time before you spend anything.
The takeawayIf your team reviews contracts or handles client money, the free Gemini courses on Google Skills are a no-cost way to test whether AI helps.
