If you already write your social posts in ChatGPT, you may be able to skip the copy-and-paste step. Blotato, a social media scheduling service, announced on November 5, 2026 that it is now an official plugin in the ChatGPT Plugins directory. Users can schedule posts by describing what they want in a chat.
What it does
Blotato says ChatGPT can schedule a week of posts, or move ones already scheduled. One example request on the listing reads: "Move all my posts scheduled for Friday to Monday at the same times." Publishing covers nine platforms.
- X, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
- TikTok, YouTube and Threads
- Pinterest and Bluesky
The DM automations
The plugin can also set up a comment-to-DM funnel. This is the setup behind reels that send a link to anyone who comments a keyword. The example request: "When someone comments GUIDE on any of my Instagram posts, DM them asking for their email, then DM them my guide."
ChatGPT creates the automation in your Blotato account as a draft. Once you switch it on, it keeps running on Blotato's side, even after you close the chat. By default it also posts a short public reply under each triggering comment. You can turn that off. Comments, direct messages and DM automations work on Instagram and Facebook only.
What changed
Blotato already worked with ChatGPT, but setup was manual. Users had to enter Blotato's server address as a custom connection. Now the plugin installs from its listing. Blotato says it was listed after OpenAI's developer verification and review. It also works on Codex.
What it costs
The plugin requires a paid Blotato plan, starting at $29 per month. Blotato's 7-day free trial covers the web app only. It does not include the access the plugin uses, so you cannot test this feature for free.
OpenAI also says whether a given plugin can be installed depends on a user's plan, workspace, role and region. Your account may not show it right away.
Worth keeping in mind
This announcement is a press release from Blotato, so the claims have not been tested independently. Social accounts, scheduled posts and automations already set up in Blotato are in place once the plugin is connected. Since DM automations can message your followers, review each draft before you switch it on.
The takeawayBlotato's ChatGPT plugin can schedule posts and run DM automations, but it needs a paid plan from $29 a month, and the free trial does not include it.
