Privacy policy
Effective October 12, 2026. Dash AI is operated by Dashline (“Dashline”, “we”).
What Dash AI is
Dash AI lets a business ask questions about its own data in plain language. The business connects the systems it uses (for example QuickBooks, Shopify, Zoho CRM, Zoho Analytics or a database it operates), Dash AI copies the data those systems expose into a database the business owns, and answers questions by running read-only queries against that database.
Information we handle
- Account information. The name, email address and password hash of each person who signs in, the company they belong to, and their role.
- Connected-system data. The records a business chooses to sync from a connected system: customers, vendors, items, invoices, bills, payments, orders, deals and similar business records, including the personal details those records contain (names, contact details, addresses). What is synced is chosen per connection and per module by the business’s administrator.
- Credentials for connected systems. OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored by our authorization service and used only to read data on the business’s behalf. We never ask for, and never store, a user’s password for a connected system.
- Questions and answers. The questions people ask, the queries generated to answer them, the answers, and ratings of those answers.
- Operational data. Audit trail entries, sync logs, error reports and usage metrics needed to run and support the service.
Where connected-system data is stored
Synced data is written into a PostgreSQL database that the business provides and controls (its “warehouse”). Dashline does not keep a separate copy of synced records. A description of the data (table and column names, their meaning, sample values and value lists) is kept inside that same database so questions can be answered.
How we use information
- To sync data from connected systems into the business’s warehouse and keep it current.
- To answer questions: a question, the relevant table and column descriptions and small samples of values are sent to a large-language-model provider (OpenAI or Anthropic, under the business’s own API key or Dashline’s) to plan a query and write the answer. Model providers used through their API do not train on this data.
- To operate, secure and support the service, and to send account emails such as invitations and password resets.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use connected-system data for advertising.
Access is read-only
Dash AI only reads from connected systems. It never creates, changes or deletes records in QuickBooks, Shopify, Zoho or any other connected system, and it requests only the read scopes it needs.
Sharing
We share information only with the providers needed to run the service: the hosting provider of our servers and authorization service, the business’s own database host, the model providers named above for the content of questions, and an email provider for account emails. Each receives only what its function requires. We disclose information when required by law.
Retention and deletion
- Disconnecting a source revokes its credentials and drops the tables it created in the business’s warehouse.
- Disconnecting a QuickBooks company from within QuickBooks has the same effect for that connection; its tokens are no longer usable and are removed.
- Closing an account removes its users, sources and credentials; questions and audit entries are kept for up to 90 days for support and security, then deleted.
- A business may request deletion of anything above at any time at the address below.
Security
Connections are encrypted in transit. Credentials for connected systems are stored encrypted. Access to a business’s data is limited to the users that business invites, with roles set by its administrator, and every administrative action is logged.
Your rights
People whose information appears in a connected system should direct requests to the business that operates that system; Dash AI processes the data on that business’s behalf. Account holders can see and correct their account information in the app and can ask us to delete it.
Changes and contact
