Apple's iOS 27.2 update lets an iPhone show up to four live sports streams at the same time. The feature is called Multiview. If you already pay for Apple TV, it means you can keep an eye on several games on your phone without flipping between them.

What changed

Multiview works with sports included in an Apple TV subscription. That covers Major League Soccer (MLS), Formula 1 (F1) in the U.S., and Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders during the Major League Baseball season.

Formula 1 gets extra options. You can pick a preset team view for live events, or build your own from several F1 feeds, such as onboard cameras and track maps.

Multiview is not new to Apple devices. It was already on the Apple TV 4K box and the Vision Pro headset. The Apple TV supports four sports streams at once, and the Vision Pro supports five. The iPhone matches the Apple TV at four.

What is not known yet

The source report is short. It does not say when iOS 27.2 will be released, which iPhone models will get the feature, or whether the Apple TV subscription price changes. It also does not say if more sports will be added later. Anyone who wants to try Multiview will need to wait for the update and check that their live event is part of the Apple TV subscription.

The takeaway

If you pay for Apple TV, iOS 27.2 should let your iPhone show up to four MLS, F1 or Friday Night Baseball streams at once.
