Keys Inc. says you can now ask ChatGPT for help when you are locked out of your car and be connected with a local locksmith. The company announced on Oct. 26, 2026 that its Keys Locksmith service is available inside ChatGPT.
How it works
You start by typing something like, "Keys, I'm locked out of my car." The chat helps work out what service you need, gathers details such as your location and vehicle, and requests quotes. You then move to a secure Keys page. There you pick a locksmith and approve payment. Keys says you stay in control of both steps.
Keys builds and runs the tool, and participating locksmiths do the actual work. ChatGPT is made by OpenAI. The company showed the tool to locksmiths at the Yankee Security Convention in Springfield, Massachusetts, held October 20 to 24.
What is not known yet
The announcement does not say what quotes or fees will cost, which areas have locksmiths signed up, or how quickly one can arrive. Keys says availability depends on your location, the service you need and whether a participating locksmith is free. Before approving payment, check the price and the arrival details shown on the Keys page.
The takeawayIf you are locked out, ChatGPT can now request locksmith quotes through Keys, but check price and local availability before you pay.
