QuestionPro, a company known for online surveys and customer research, has bought Contlo, a marketing platform that sends emails, texts and other messages for online stores. The plan is to link what customers say in surveys with how stores respond, so AI programs can decide what to do for each shopper.

What the deal covers

Contlo keeps customer data, sorts shoppers into groups and automates messages by email, text, WhatsApp and web push alerts, which are pop-up notifications from a website. It has sent more than 5.8 billion messages, manages over 190 million customer profiles, has generated 3.9 million orders and works with more than 200 platforms.

QuestionPro says its feedback data plus Contlo's purchase and engagement data will let AI agents pick the next best step for each shopper. That could be product advice, a service reply or a timely follow-up. The agents then adjust based on results. Co-founders Ishaan Bhola and Mukunda NS will join QuestionPro as AI advisors. QuestionPro will also use SuperAGI's agentic AI platform across its products.

What is not known yet

The announcement does not give a price, a launch date for new tools or details on how customer data will be shared and protected. Store owners may want to ask how survey answers and purchase history would be combined, and what control customers would have.

The takeaway

If you sell online, ask your software vendors how they would combine customer feedback with purchase data before AI tools start acting on it.
