A startup called Dataline has raised $10.6 million to solve a simple problem: AI tools can act on bad information. Its answer is a network that gives every piece of data a confidence score before an AI agent uses it. The company announced the funding on Oct. 31, 2026.
What Dataline does
An AI agent is software that takes actions on its own, such as making a payment or fetching information. Dataline says agents are only as good as the data behind them. Its system attaches a confidence score to each data response. The score weighs three things: how reliable the source is, how fresh the data is, and whether it agrees with other sources.
The idea is that an agent can flag or refuse weak data before it acts. Dataline compares itself to OpenRouter, which routes AI requests. Dataline wants to do the same job for data, through a single integration.
A marketplace for data
Anyone can publish a data feed and set a price per call. An AI agent pays each time it uses the feed, through a payment method called x402. Dataline also offers a bounty system, which it likens to a job board. A requester posts the data it needs, and someone in the network claims the job, supplies the data and gets paid. Providers can also add an optional proof that the response is genuine.
How quality is enforced
Dataline says no central authority checks the work. Instead, people who supply data put up tokens, a kind of digital money, as a deposit. Good data earns the bounty. Bad data costs the supplier its deposit. The goal is to give suppliers a money reason to be accurate.
Backers and early numbers
Lattice and Dispersion Capital, which is Samsung-backed, co-led the round. Symbolic Capital also took part. Other backers include Coinbase Ventures, Anagram, a former Head of the CFTC, and founders and partners from Robinhood, Venmo and Anchorage.
Dataline reports the following figures. They come from the company and are not independently checked in the announcement.
- 19.4 million onchain transactions, meaning payments recorded on a public blockchain
- A 96.4% task success rate for AI agents
- A community of more than 300,000 people
Builders on Base and Robinhood Chain will get free access. Dataline also plans a public token auction in November on both chains.
What is not known yet
The announcement does not say what Dataline charges, how the confidence score is calculated, or how the 96.4% success rate was measured. It does not say how the token auction will work for ordinary buyers. Anyone thinking of joining should read those details first, since the tokens carry financial risk.
The takeawayIf AI tools will handle money or work for you, ask where their data comes from and how it is checked, because the results are only as good as that data.
