Slack adds AI helpers that take over meeting notes and busywork

Slack has added a batch of AI-powered features this month, and the one most teams will notice first is simple. After a meeting, Slack can turn the notes and action items into tasks inside Salesforce, so nobody has to retype them. The update also reaches into email, data and mobile use.

What changed

For companies that connect Slack to Salesforce, a customer management tool, Slack now writes meeting notes and action items for it. Those details become Salesforce tasks automatically. Slackbot, Slack's built-in assistant, can also flag deals or check shipping status without leaving Salesforce. Slack lists that feature for Business+ and Enterprise+ plans.

AI assistants such as Claude can now create, read, update and delete Slack Lists and their records. This works through the Slack MCP Server, which is a connection that lets outside AI tools work inside Slack.

For admins

• Admins can connect Gmail for the whole company in one step, instead of each person linking an account.
• Org Owners and Admins can ask Slackbot about member activity and usage in plain language.
• Slack says more datasets are on the way for that analytics feature.

The Gmail link brings email context into shared work and Slack's AI tools. That is the kind of setup chore that often stops a feature from being used at all.

On your phone

HTML files can now show up as interactive pages on smartphones. That used to work only on desktop. It now works on both iOS and Android.

What to know before you try it

Not every workspace gets everything right away. Some features depend on the plan a company pays for, so a team may not see all of them yet. The material does not give prices or a firm rollout schedule for each feature.

The practical step is to check which Slack plan your company has. Then ask your Slack admin which of these time-savers can be turned on today. Slack points to its Innovations webpage and blog for more detail on this and earlier releases.
