Samsung has released one more foldable for 2026, the Galaxy W27. It is sold only in China, and it costs about $2,800. It is basically a dressed-up version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which sells for less.
What you get
The W27 is built on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and shares its main specs. That includes an 8-inch inner screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a 200MP main camera. The differences are mostly looks and extras.
- Golden accents, in dark red or dark blue
- 16GB of memory as standard, with 512GB or 1TB of storage
- Tuned for Tiantong satellite communication
- A case and a charging brick in the box
What it costs
The starting price is CNY 18,999, or around $2,800. The 1TB version is CNY 21,999, or around $3,300. By comparison, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with 1TB of storage sells for $2,699.
Who it is for
The W27 is aimed at buyers in China who want a special edition. For anyone else, the standard Fold 8 Ultra gives the same core phone for less money. The material does not say whether Samsung plans to sell the W27 outside China. Samsung has also said it has bigger plans for its foldable lineup in 2027.
The takeawayThe Galaxy W27 is a pricey China-only version of the Fold 8 Ultra, and the regular model is the better deal.
