Samsung says its next flagship phones, the Galaxy S27 line, will each have a more distinct character. It also promises year-end sales on its current flagships. The comments came on its latest earnings call, where executives update investors on results and plans.
The same call showed the money side. Samsung's mobile division posted another operating loss, meaning running the business cost more than it brought in. The report links this to memory costs that keep rising.
What Samsung said
Daniel Araujo, a vice president in the mobile division, expects "a series of promotional campaigns during the year-end peak season" around Samsung's flagship Galaxy devices. He also listed the "release of smart glasses" among holiday plans. Neither Samsung nor Google has officially confirmed launch plans for those Android XR glasses.
For 2027, Araujo spoke of a "next-generation S series" with the "distinct character of each model." He also mentioned thinner and lighter foldable phones, plus ideas such as Glass and TriFold.
What is not known
No prices, dates or model names were given. 9to5Google reads the "distinct character" line as a hint at a new Pro model and design changes to the S27 Ultra. That is an interpretation, not a Samsung announcement.
The takeawayYear-end Samsung deals look likely, but the S27 lineup and the smart glasses are still unconfirmed, so waiting may pay off.
