Motorola's upcoming Signature 27 phone could cost nearly 60% more than last year's model, according to a European store listing. Portuguese retailer MegaPC listed it at €1,594.90, about $1,775. Last year's Signature sold in Europe for €999.
What the listing shows
The listing is for a version with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage, in a color called Pantone Coal Smoke. Last year's phone had the same setup. In some regions it launched for a little over $600.
The new phone does bring upgrades:
- Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor
- A 200MP zoom camera
- Audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen
- Seven years of software support
The same store also listed an unannounced Razr Flex 27, a wide foldable phone, at €1,510.90 (about $1,680). That is below the €1,999.99 European launch price of the current Razr Fold, which costs $1,899.99 in the US.
What is not known yet
None of these prices come from Motorola. Retailers sometimes post placeholder prices before a launch, so the real numbers could differ. Motorola has not confirmed a price or a release date for either phone, based on the material available.
For anyone hoping for another low-cost high-end Motorola, the safest move is to hold off on buying and wait for the official price before planning a budget.
The takeawayWait for Motorola's official Signature 27 price before budgeting, because one store's listing suggests a steep jump but may be a placeholder.
