Motorola has dropped the Moto Tag 2 back to $19.99. The item tracker had briefly gone up to its $30 list price after Motorola ended a promotion earlier this month. Before that, it sold for $20 for months. The 1-pack is available at Motorola.com and Amazon.
What you get
The Moto Tag 2 works with Google's Find Hub, the Android network for locating lost items. According to 9to5Google, it is the only Find Hub tracker right now that supports UWB precise finding along with Bluetooth. UWB is a short-range signal that can help guide you to an item when you are close. The tracker also has better battery life than the last generation and works with AirTag accessories, such as key rings and holders.
Pricing details
- 1-pack: $19.99 at Motorola.com and Amazon
- 4-pack: $69.99
- The orange Arabesque color only comes in the 4-pack
The price has already changed once this month, so it could change again. The material does not say how long this price will last.
What else is out there
Some buyers may prefer the dual-network finders from Pebblebee and Chipolo, and 9to5Google says the Moto Tag 2 is the best deal only if you do not need one of those. Google is also preparing its own Pixel Tag, with UWB support. It will cost $30 and will not fit AirTag accessories. No launch date is given in the material.
The takeawayIf you want an Android-friendly tracker with precise finding for keys or a bag, $19.99 is a good price, but it has changed before.
