Microsoft Project Professional 2024 for Windows is on sale for $49.97 through Nov. 1. It is a single payment for a lifetime license, offered through StackSocial. The regular price is listed as $1,299.99.
What it does
Project is software for planning work with many moving parts. When one deadline shifts, it helps you see which other tasks are affected. You set task dependencies, which means which task must finish before another can start, and Project fills in start and end dates for you. Templates give you a starting plan.
- Gantt charts, which show a schedule as bars, with task path highlighting
- Multiple timelines for different parts of a project
- What-if scenarios to test task assignments before you commit
- Baselines to compare actual progress with the original plan
- Burndown and Resource Overview reports, plus timesheets
Limits to check
The license covers one Windows PC, so it will not stretch across a team. Teams chat and calls inside Project need a separate Teams license. Project can also sync with Project Online and Project Server.
The page shows two list prices, $1,299.99 and $1,129.99. The sale price is the same either way. The material does not say what computer specs are needed or whether updates and support are included. StackSocial also says prices are subject to change.
The takeawayIf you use Windows and plan projects alone, $49.97 is a cheap way to try Project, but it covers one PC and the deal ends Nov. 1.
