Mastercard and YouTube star MrBeast are teaming up on new payment cards. The companies announced on Monday, Oct. 26, that Mastercard and MrBeast's Beast Industries will build card programs for both everyday consumers and creators.
What was announced
The plan covers co-brand cards, which carry the names of two companies. It also includes new experiences and tools. The stated goal is to help creators and the next generation turn ideas into opportunity and build stronger financial futures.
Mastercard said the work supports its pledge to "connect and protect" 500 million people and small businesses by the end of the decade. The release also said many creators are now founders who hire staff, launch products and serve customers worldwide.
Why MrBeast, and what is missing
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has been moving into finance. He worked with MoneyLion on the 2024 Prime Video series "Beast Games". Last fall he filed to trademark "MrBeast Financial" for a mobile app, online banking services and software. In February, Beast Industries bought FinTech Step, a company focused on financial literacy and money management.
The announcement leaves out the practical details. There are no launch dates, no fees, no rewards and no word on who can apply. It also does not say whether the cards will be credit or debit.
The takeawayExpect more card and money tools aimed at creators, and check the fees once details appear.
