Little Caesars customers can now order pizza by chatting with ChatGPT, the AI chatbot. The company calls it a first-of-a-kind feature. It works at all U.S. locations and at many Little Caesars restaurants in Mexico and Canada.
How it works
You open ChatGPT, go to its app directory, find the Little Caesars app and connect your accounts. After that, you can type what you want in plain language. You can mention your budget, a dietary need or that you are in a hurry, and ChatGPT builds meal suggestions from that.
Little Caesars says the tool relies on its existing mobile app for a "seamless handoff" from the chat to checkout. The company also says ChatGPT can see its menu, pricing and store locator data in real time, while security and compliance standards stay in place.
Why companies are doing this
Greg Hamilton, the chain's chief marketing officer, said people now use generative AI, the kind that answers in conversation, to search for everything, including where to eat. The company wants to meet customers there. Starbucks also recently announced that it added ChatGPT ordering through its app.
What is not known yet
The material does not say whether the feature costs extra or which ChatGPT plans can use it. It also does not explain what information is shared between the two apps once your accounts are linked. If you try it, expect to connect your account before you can order.
The takeawayTo order Little Caesars through ChatGPT, you must first connect your account in ChatGPT's app directory.
