Instagram has an app for Apple TV. It brings Reels (short videos), longer videos and live shows to Apple's streaming box for the first time. The app appears to have gone live on October 23, based on Apple's release details for version 66.0.
What it does
The app lets people watch their favorite creators, discover new videos and pick up where they left off on another device. Instagram describes it as a way to watch together with friends and family on the television.
It requires tvOS 26.0 or later. That is the software that runs Apple TV. An archived App Store listing from October 19 still showed only iPhone and iPad support.
How it got here
Instagram tested TV apps first. Amazon Fire TV in the United States came in December 2025, Google TV in February 2026 and Samsung smart TVs in June. Early versions focused on Reels sorted into interest-based channels that play automatically.
In June, Meta, Instagram's parent company, said it planned to add longer creator videos, episodic series and live broadcasts. The Apple TV description lists longer videos and live shows next to Reels.
What is not known yet
The material does not say what the app costs, which countries can use it, or whether every feature is available on day one. Anyone with a compatible Apple TV can check the App Store for the app and see if their device meets the software requirement.
The takeawayIf you own an Apple TV running tvOS 26.0 or later, you can now find Instagram in its App Store and watch creator videos on your TV.
