Google Photos may soon let you tidy your library by simply asking. According to a report from Android Authority, an upgrade to a feature called Ask Photos could let you delete many photos at once and edit a group of photos together, all from one typed request.
What changed
Ask Photos is the search helper built into Google Photos. Today it is mainly a way to find pictures by describing them. The reported upgrade would go further. You could type a single request and have the app act on many photos in one go, instead of tapping through them one at a time.
- Bulk delete: remove many photos with one request.
- Batch edit: change a group of photos together, not one by one.
Who it affects
Anyone with a phone full of duplicates, blurry shots and old screenshots could benefit. Google Photos is where many people keep their pictures, so a faster cleanup would reach a lot of everyday users and small businesses that store product or job photos there.
What is not known yet
The report says the upgrade could arrive, not that it will. The material does not say when it might launch, who would get it first, or whether it would cost anything. It also does not explain how the app would decide which photos match a request.
What to do
Nothing for now. If the feature does arrive, check what the app picks before you confirm any delete. A request that sounds clear to you may be read differently by the app, and deleted photos can be hard to get back.
The takeawayIf Google Photos gains one-request cleanup, review the photos it selects before you confirm any delete.
