DocuSign has launched tools that let companies using SAP software create, sign and manage contracts without leaving SAP. They are called SAP Signature and Agreement Management. They work inside SAP Sales Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors, which are SAP's sales and HR systems.

What it does

DocuSign built the tools by placing its Intelligent Agreement Management inside the two SAP products. In sales, a team can start a contract workflow from within SAP Sales Cloud. That means no switching between apps and no retyping data.

Sales teams also get a real-time view of their contracts. That helps with planning renewals and meeting legal standards. Less manual typing should also mean fewer mistakes.

In HR, the SuccessFactors version automates common tasks such as onboarding. It links offer letters and other key documents directly to employee profiles in SAP.

Who it is for

The clearest fit is a business that already runs on SAP. DocuSign CEO Allan Thygesen said contracts drive every deal and every hire, but have been disconnected from the systems where the work happens.

What is not known

The material does not say what the tools cost or exactly when they are available. It does warn that setup and staff training will take time and investment. Companies not already on SAP may face a learning curve or need to change how they work.

The takeaway

If your company already uses SAP, ask about these tools, but check the price and plan time for setup and training first.
