ASUS has started selling a graphics card made to run AI programs on a single desk instead of in the cloud. The UGen Intel Arc Pro B70 costs €1,799 in Germany and Austria and CHF 1,799 in Switzerland, with tax included. That is roughly $2,000. It is aimed at professionals and developers, not gamers.
What the card does
A graphics card, or GPU, is a chip add-on that handles heavy computing. This one carries 32GB of fast, error-correcting memory, which matters because bigger AI models need more of it. ASUS pitches the card for local AI inference, which means running an AI model on your own machine to get answers from it.
Other details from ASUS:
- 32 Xe2 cores and 256 XMX engines, the parts built to speed up AI tasks
- A dual-slot blower-style cooler
- A rated power draw of 310W, compared with 230W for Intel's own version
- Support for up to four cards together, for 128GB of memory
The price question
Intel introduced the Arc Pro B70 in March 2026, with its own card starting at $949. ASUS's version has the same core design but different cooling and a higher power rating. The two prices are not a clean comparison, because the European figure includes VAT, a sales tax.
Still, €1,799 puts the card near NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090, which launched in the US at $1,999 with 32GB of memory. The cards target different work, so price alone does not settle it. A four-card setup would cost €7,196 for the cards alone.
Who it is for
The pitch is control. A business that handles sensitive information may prefer to keep AI work on its own equipment instead of sending data to an outside service. The 32GB of memory could also suit jobs that are too big for mainstream cards with less memory.
The cost is the trade-off. Buyers will want to weigh it against cloud AI services and other workstation cards. The higher power rating also means a computer needs enough power supply and cooling to handle it.
What is not known yet
ASUS has not announced a US price or availability date. Retail prices for the card family have climbed in the US since March. Newegg lists an Intel Arc Pro B70 model for $1,945.99, though prices vary by seller. How the card performs in real use, and how well software supports it, remains to be shown.
The takeawayRunning AI on your own hardware can keep data in-house, but at about $2,000 per card, compare the cost with cloud services first.
