Anthropic has released a new version of the toolkit that connects software to Claude through Google Cloud. The release is tagged google-cloud-sdk-v0.2.0 and appears in the company's TypeScript SDK on GitHub. It makes two changes, and both are about how the toolkit talks to Google Cloud.

What changed

First, the toolkit now uses the v1 endpoints. An endpoint is the address a program contacts to reach a service. Version 1 is the stable version of those addresses, which means the toolkit now points to the settled version rather than an earlier one.

Second, the release adds support for an organization endpoint. That matters for company-wide accounts, where a business manages access for many people under one roof instead of one person at a time.

Who it affects

This is mainly for developers. If your business uses Claude through Google Cloud, the person or team who built that connection may need to update the toolkit. Everyday users of Claude are not the audience for this release.

What is not known yet

The release notes are short. The material does not say whether the older setup will stop working, whether updating is required, or when any deadline might fall. It also does not list any cost. If your company relies on this connection, ask your developer to read the full release page and test the update before rolling it out.

The takeaway

If Claude runs through Google Cloud at your company, ask your developer whether the toolkit needs updating to version 0.2.0.
