Affinity's new all-in-one creative app is coming to the iPad on November 3, 2026. Pre-orders are open now. It arrives nearly a year after Canva launched the redesigned desktop version for Mac and Windows. Creatives have been asking for the iPad version ever since.
What it does
The new app combines the tools from Affinity's separate Photo, Designer and Publisher apps into one. It supports Apple Pencil pressure, tilt and barrel roll, so a sketch can become finished vector artwork in the same file. Affinity says it also handles RAW photo editing, typography and print-ready page layouts.
- Free for individuals, with core photo, vector, layout and sketching tools included
- Opens PSD, AI, INDD, IDML, PDF, SVG and other common creative formats
- Canva AI Studio features need a premium Canva plan
What to watch
Files made in the new app cannot be opened in the older V2 iPad apps. Anyone who shares files with people on the old apps should keep that in mind before switching.
The material does not say which iPad models the app will support or what pricing looks like for anyone other than individuals. It also does not give the cost of the premium Canva plan.
The takeawayIf you design on an iPad, the full Affinity toolkit is free from November 3, but files from the new app will not open in the older V2 iPad apps.
