A company called NumbersGame has expanded a tool that lets accounting firms use AI chat assistants on their clients' financial records. The tool already worked with QuickBooks Online and Xero. It now also connects to Stripe, Square and Ramp. The news was reported by Yahoo! Finance Canada on November 2, 2026.
What the tool does
The tool is an MCP. That is a kind of connector that lets an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, reach into other software. Here, it links the chat assistants to accounting programs. QuickBooks Online and Xero are two of the most widely used accounting programs, so the tool already covered a lot of ground.
What changed
Stripe and Square handle card payments. Ramp handles business spending. With these added, an accounting firm can reach those records through the same AI connection, not only the books themselves.
Who it affects
Accounting firms are the direct users. Their clients are affected too. If your business takes card payments through Stripe or Square, or spends through Ramp, that information could now sit within reach of an AI tool your accountant uses.
What is not known yet
The available material does not say how the tool protects data, what it costs, or when each connection becomes available. It also does not say how many firms use it.
What to do
- Ask your accountant whether AI tools are used on your books.
- Ask which of your accounts those tools can see.
- Ask how your financial information is protected.
The takeawayIf your accountant uses AI on your books, ask which tools touch your financial data and how that information is protected.
