A startup is selling a computer mouse with a small touchscreen built in. It is called Super Mouse, and it is live on Kickstarter, the crowdfunding site. It works with both Mac and Windows PC. 9to5Mac points out the timing: the project appeared on the day Apple was set to unveil its first touchscreen Mac.
What it does
The 3.1 inch screen shows shortcuts for the app you are using. You pick which ones appear and how they are arranged. The mouse detects the app and switches the controls on its own. You can also make separate profiles for work, home and more.
- Customizable physical buttons, called Hyper Keys, can run a whole series of steps with one press.
- A double-tap turns it into a small multi-touch trackpad for scrolling, swiping and zooming.
- The screen can show some content and a swipe keyboard.
Setup happens in a companion app for macOS and Windows. It suits people who repeat the same tasks all day.
Cost, timing and open questions
Kickstarter backers pay $199. The planned store price starts at $249. The funding deadline is December 8, and shipping is planned for February 2027. The material does not say how the mouse connects, how long the battery lasts, or who is behind the company.
Kickstarter projects can fail, and shipping dates can slip. Backing one means paying now for a product that does not exist yet.
The takeawaySuper Mouse could save clicks on repeated tasks, but Kickstarter projects can fail or ship late, so think before paying $199.
