Zoho has upgraded Ask Zia, the AI assistant inside its Zoho Analytics software, so that one chat window now directs six specialized AI helpers. The update was announced October 28. It is meant to help small businesses answer questions about their numbers, such as why sales dropped, without pulling data from several systems by hand.
What changed
A central AI agent now coordinates six specialized agents. They handle data analysis, visualization, data preparation, modeling, coding and actions. The user talks to one assistant, and it sends each task to the right helper. Ask Zia also keeps conversation history and memory, so related requests do not need to be explained again.
Zoho also added a workflow builder, which lets agents trigger actions directly. Companies can build custom agents grounded in their own data and connect them to outside tools. The release does not list specific ready-made workflows or supported business actions.
Controls and oversight
Because agents can now act, not just answer, Zoho added tools to keep watch. Administrators can see the following:
- Which agents ran
- Who used them
- What information they accessed
- How they responded to queries
Zoho also tracks AI usage and costs across teams. A sandbox lets companies test agents before publishing them, and administrators can roll back to earlier versions.
Price and timing
Zoho says Analytics prices are unchanged. The Basic plan starts at $24 per month, billed annually. It includes two users, 500,000 data rows and 10,000 Zoho LLM credits. The announcement does not say how agent tasks use those credits, so heavy users should watch their allowance.
Cloud customers get the update starting October 28. Preview versions of the ontology and semantic models, which define business terms and how they relate, roll out globally over the following four to eight weeks. On-premises installations get updates in the first quarter of 2027.
What to check
Zoho has not shared benchmarks showing how much time the new setup saves, and its examples are possible uses, not customer results. Automated analysis can still mislead if the underlying data is messy or terms are defined inconsistently. Owners will still need to set permissions, review important AI recommendations and decide which actions need a person's approval.
The takeawayBefore letting Ask Zia act on your numbers, clean up your data, set permissions and decide which actions need human approval.
