Apple's iOS 27 adds a Phone app feature called Call Context. When you call a business, your iPhone pulls up related details from your other apps and shows them on the call screen. Reviewer Ryan Christoffel of 9to5Mac, who tested it, called it the kind of no-brainer addition that should prove popular.
What it does
Apple's example is a confirmation code in Mail that appears when you call an airline. In the reviewer's test, he had booked flights with Southwest Airlines and later called about a change. His flight info appeared on screen automatically. The iPhone also offered to read the confirmation number aloud during the call.
A second Southwest flight was stacked underneath the first. If the top result is not the one you need, the right one should usually be a quick tap away.
Who can use it
Call Context is an Apple Intelligence feature, which is Apple's set of built-in smart tools. It launches in English only. It is limited to iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch models that support Apple Intelligence.
- Language: English only at first
- Devices: only models that support Apple Intelligence
- Where it shows up: the call screen when you phone a business
The material does not say how much this costs, which businesses it works with, or how it handles privacy. The test covered one airline, so results with other businesses are not yet known.
The takeawayIf your device supports Apple Intelligence, iOS 27 can show your booking details during a business call, but it starts in English only.
