Square sellers can now manage their Apple Maps listing from the same Square dashboard they use to run their business. The goal is to save owners the weekly chore of fixing hours, menus and other details by hand on each platform.

What changed

Square built the link with Apple Business. Changes made in the dashboard sync automatically. Christopher Tompkins, founder of Broad Street Oyster Co., runs six locations with a menu that changes often. He says keeping every listing accurate used to be a constant chore, and the new setup saves meaningful time each week.

It is open to Square sellers in the U.S., Canada and several European countries. Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Block, says more customer discovery now happens through Apple Maps. Square says the tool suits both single shops and multi-location businesses.

What to watch

Apple Maps is only one place customers look. The article says owners should still keep Google and Yelp listings current, especially if their customers use those services. Any new tool also takes some time to learn.

Several details are not in the announcement coverage. It does not give a price, name the European countries, or explain the setup steps. It also does not say whether Google or Yelp listings can be updated the same way.

The takeaway

Square sellers can now update Apple Maps from one dashboard, but Google and Yelp listings still need to be kept current.
