Samsung's next standard Galaxy phone may charge at the same speed as the current one. A safety listing from Denmark points to about 25W of wired charging for the Galaxy S27. That is the same figure the Galaxy S26 offers, and Android Police says the base model has used it for roughly seven years.
What the listing shows
The Danish certification lists the power rating as 9V and 2.77A, which works out to about 25W at most. Samsung's Plus and Ultra models already charge faster, at 45W. The report suggests a smaller battery in the base model may explain the gap. The Galaxy S26 has a 4,300 mAh battery. The S27 may also keep 15W wireless charging.
Who it affects
Anyone planning to buy the standard Galaxy S27 and hoping for quicker top-ups may be disappointed. The Plus or Ultra may be the better pick for fast charging, though they cost more. The Ultra is tipped to get a larger 5,700 mAh battery and a redesigned rear camera. The standard model could keep the S26's flat frame and floating camera lenses.
What is not known yet
Samsung has not announced the phone, its price or its final specs. The charging details come from regulatory listings, which can show what a phone ships with but are not a launch announcement. A South Korean leaker says the Galaxy S27 could arrive in January 2027 or early February.
The takeawayIf fast charging matters, expect the base Galaxy S27 to stay at about 25W and plan to look at the Plus or Ultra, pending Samsung's announcement.
