Samsung's folding phone lineup could get much bigger in 2027, according to two leaks. One says Samsung is testing two versions of an extra wide Galaxy Z Fold 9. Another lists six folding models, including a new one called the Galaxy Z Slide, which would stretch its screen outward instead of folding.
What the leaks say
Tipster Lanzuk, posting on Naver, says the two wide Fold 9 options come from display supply chain sources. One is a Plus-like model with a slightly larger screen. The other is an FE-like model, with about the same size but fewer high-end features and possibly a lower price.
Samsung reportedly plans to pick only one, with an internal decision expected soon. The idea follows the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has a passport-style shape and a 4:3 inner screen. Its popularity has apparently encouraged Samsung.
A second tipster, TheGalox, lists these 2027 models:
- Galaxy Z Fold 9
- Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro
- Galaxy Z Flip 9
- Galaxy Z TriFold 2, which could arrive first
- Galaxy Z Slide
What is not known
Samsung has not confirmed any of these phones. The reports overlap and do not add up to a final product list. An earlier report also suggested Samsung's first commercial rollable phone might not arrive until 2028, which does not match the Slide leak. For anyone planning to buy a foldable, a cheaper option would be welcome, but it is worth waiting for Samsung to say what is real.
The takeawaySamsung has confirmed none of these rumored foldables, so wait for an official announcement before planning a purchase around them.
