Fresha, a booking platform for beauty and wellness businesses, has partnered with payments company Klarna. Announced Monday, Nov. 2, the deal lets salons, spas and similar businesses offer buy now, pay later plans. That means a client can split a bill into smaller payments instead of paying it all at once.
What changed
The option appears in Fresha's new Payment Methods experience. Businesses can let clients choose between paying in full or spreading the cost over time. Fresha says it stays connected to bookings, payments and client management.
Fresha's head of product, Dane Carmody, said Klarna has consistently been one of the most requested payment features from its partners. He named aesthetics, laser treatments, advanced skincare, wellness programmes and premium hair services as the kinds of higher-value services behind the requests.
Who it affects
Business owners may find that installments help clients say yes to costly treatments. Fresha's CEO, William Zeqiri, said the goal is to remove barriers to booking and help businesses keep clients coming back.
Clients should look closely at the total cost before choosing to split a payment. Recent PYMNTS Intelligence research found that 34% of married parents care most about the monthly amount, while 29% of single parents care most about total cost.
The material does not say what fees or terms apply, which countries can use the feature, or when every Fresha business will have it.
The takeawayInstallments may make big beauty bills easier to book, but check the full cost before you split a payment.
