Salesforce is buying Loops, a company whose software tells you why your business numbers changed, not just that they did. Salesforce plans to fold the technology and the team into Tableau, its data reporting product. The deal is expected to close in early November of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027.
What Loops does
Loops uses AI to watch how a business is performing. When a key number moves, it looks for what is behind the change. It also points to steps a team could take. That could help owners who do not have a data analyst on staff.
Loops can also send its findings to Slack and email. Owners would not need to open another app to get the answer.
Mark Recher, who runs Tableau, said Loops uses AI to find the drivers of business performance and show where teams can act in real time.
What is not known yet
The coverage does not give a price for the deal. It also does not say when Loops features will show up in Tableau, what they will cost, or whether Loops will still be sold on its own.
For current Salesforce or Tableau customers, the likely payoff is plainer answers about why sales moved. The catch is that staff used to traditional reports may need time and training to trust and use an automated tool.
The takeawayIf you use Salesforce or Tableau, watch for Loops features after the deal closes, and plan some training time for your team.
