Apple's new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are out, and two more features are coming to them later this year. Siri Recap writes short summaries of your conversations. Live Rewind shows you what was just said as text. Both are part of a software update called watchOS 27.
What the features do
Siri Recap quietly takes notes on your conversations through the day. It then uses Apple Intelligence, Apple's AI tools, to write short summaries that help jog your memory. Summaries delete themselves after 7 days unless you choose to save them.
Live Rewind covers the last 15 seconds of speech. Double-press the Digital Crown, the dial on the side of the watch, and a text snippet of what was said appears. You can ask Siri about the snippet or save it to the Siri app.
- Siri Recap: short summaries of your day, deleted after 7 days unless saved
- Live Rewind: the last 15 seconds of speech as text
- Both are expected in watchOS 27.3, due in beta very soon
What is not known yet
The material does not give a price for the features or an exact release date. It also does not say whether older Apple Watch models will get them. The writer at 9to5Mac says Live Rewind seems most useful for accessibility needs, and he wants to see how it works in final form.
Because both features work from conversations happening around you, Apple's privacy details are worth reading before you buy. Apple has published a white paper on each feature's protections.
The takeawayBefore buying a new Apple Watch for these features, read Apple's privacy details, since both work from conversations around you.
