A company called EngageLab has launched a tool that lets AI software read and answer the replies customers send to business emails. It is called Agent Email. EngageLab is the customer messaging platform of Aurora Mobile, a Nasdaq-listed firm (JG). The announcement came on Oct. 23, 2026. For now, only enterprise customers can get it.
What it does
Most AI email tools stop at writing the message. Aurora Mobile says what happens after a customer hits reply is still mostly manual. Agent Email is meant to fill that gap. It captures incoming replies, turns them into text an AI agent can read, and keeps each back-and-forth in one conversation thread. The company says replies stay folded into the original conversation in Gmail and Outlook.
The agents can also pull answers from a company's private knowledge base, such as internal documents. They then send short summaries and signs of buying interest into a CRM. A CRM is the system a business uses to track its customers and sales leads.
How companies would use it
EngageLab names three uses:
- Answering replies to routine emails such as welcome, renewal and cart-recovery messages.
- Cold outreach for companies entering overseas markets, using a shared sending domain.
- Round-the-clock technical and sales replies across time zones, based on internal documents.
The shared domain is a ready-made email sending address for teams without the technical staff to set up their own. Companies can also use their own domain and switch between the two. The tool works with AI developer tools including Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, OpenClaw and Hermes.
What is not known yet
The announcement comes from the company itself, and it shares no results, test data or pricing. It does not say how often the AI gets an answer wrong. It also does not say whether a person can review replies before they go out, or which customers already use Agent Email. EngageLab lists Dhgate, HelloRide and J&T Cargo among its customers overall, but that does not mean they use this tool.
Why it matters
The company's CEO, Weidong Luo, said email value does not end at the send button. The goal, he said, is to turn one-way campaigns into conversations that move revenue. For any business that sends email, this shows where AI help is heading: handling the replies, not only writing the campaigns. Interested companies can contact EngageLab or visit engagelab.com.
The takeawayAI email help is moving from writing messages to answering replies, but this tool is enterprise-only and its accuracy and pricing are not public.
