T-Mobile is taking $1,100 off the Motorola Razr Fold when you add a new line on its Experience Beyond plan. On a lesser plan, the discount is $900. No trade-in is required, and the offer is for a limited time.

What the phone offers

The Razr Fold is Motorola's first book-style foldable, meaning it opens like a book into a larger screen. The inner screen is 8.1 inches and the outer one is 6.56 inches. It uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and 16GB of RAM, which Android Police says is more than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has.

  • Battery that should last well beyond a full day
  • Seven years of OS and security updates, rare for Motorola
  • Rated 8.5 out of 10 by Android Police

Android Police names two drawbacks. The phone has fewer AI features than rivals, and it is slightly thicker than Samsung's latest foldables.

Who it fits

The deal suits anyone who wants a foldable and is open to adding a T-Mobile line. The phone has been overlooked in a year when many makers released book-style foldables, including the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold.

What is not known

The material does not give the phone's full price, the monthly cost of either plan, or the date the offer ends. Since the discount depends on adding a line, the plan cost decides whether the savings are real.

The takeaway

The Razr Fold discount only applies with a new T-Mobile line, so compare the plan cost against the $900 or $1,100 savings first.
