Apple's iOS 27.2 update for iPhone arrived last week. It fixes a confusing queue in the Podcasts app and adds new options to shared photo albums. 9to5Mac writer Ryan Christoffel picked these as two changes he has been enjoying.
What changed
In Apple Podcasts, the Home tab used to show one list called Up Next. Christoffel found it confusing. Now it is split into New Episodes and Continue Playing. He says he no longer loses track of episodes he already started, because new episodes do not push them out of the queue.
Shared Albums in the Photos app let you send photos and videos to family and friends. According to Apple, the update adds three things:
- Editing captions and comments after you post them
- A prompt that helps you avoid adding duplicate photos
- A reminder before an album expires, so people can save important photos and videos
Christoffel calls the editing option long overdue. He says the duplicate prompt saves him from double-checking whether he already shared a photo.
What is not known
This is one writer's view, not a test of every iPhone. The article says iOS 27.2 has many other additions but does not detail them here. It also does not say how far ahead the expiration reminder appears or how long an album lasts before it expires.
The takeawayIf you share family photos or follow podcasts on an iPhone, iOS 27.2 brings a tidier queue and fewer duplicate or lost photos.
