Honor, a Chinese phone maker, has launched three gaming phones. The Win 2 has two small fans inside to keep its chip cool. Two other models, the Win RT2 and Win Turbo2, have very large 12,070mAh batteries. Other brands, such as Red Magic, already use one fan. Honor decided one was not enough.
What the phones do
The Win 2 has one fan that spins at up to 20,000 revolutions per minute and a second at up to 31,000. Honor says this moves 284% more air than the cooling in the original Win. The phone runs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, has a 6.89-inch screen, and is 8.5mm thick. The RT2 gets the same two fans with a slightly lower chip. The Turbo2 has no fans.
Battery and price
The mAh number measures battery size, and bigger means more stored power. The Win 2 has 10,100mAh and charges at 100W by cable or 80W wirelessly. Honor claims the Turbo2 can game for up to 17.7 hours straight.
- Win Turbo2: starts at 3,199 yuan, about $479
- Win 2: starts at 5,499 yuan, about $823
- All three are on sale in China now
What is not known
Honor has not said whether any of these phones will be sold outside China. The battery and cooling claims are the company's own, and no independent tests are mentioned yet.
The takeawayGaming phones are moving toward bigger batteries and stronger cooling, but these Honor models are not confirmed for sale outside China.
