Google Cloud, Google's service for running business software and AI, says it now offers the three leading families of closed AI models in one place. Those are models from Google, Anthropic and OpenAI. The news comes from Google's own October recap, so the claims are Google's, not independent findings.

What changed

Google says it is now the only hyperscale cloud provider with all three leading closed models. Hyperscale means a very large cloud company. Closed models are ones whose inner workings the maker keeps private. Google's AI platform also lists more than 200 models from Google, outside companies and open projects.

Anthropic, the maker of Claude, now has a general availability option on Google Cloud. Anthropic can manage the deployment itself, alongside the existing option where Google manages it. Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 are also available in Google Antigravity. Opus is built for complex work. Sonnet is faster and costs less.

Google's own new model

Google also brought Gemini 4 Argon to Google Cloud. The company says it was trained to keep track of context across long, multi-step tasks. Google points to software builds, detailed financial and legal work, and security tools such as CodeMender as examples.

Other updates in the recap

  • Gemini for government services is in preview, with skills and connections built for public agencies.
  • Gemini Robotics Embodied Reasoning 2 is available for robotics and other physical AI work.
  • Developer guides cover building MCP apps in Gemini and checking how well AI agents perform.

Who it affects

Mostly companies that already run on Google Cloud or are shopping for AI tools. Having several model families on one platform can make side-by-side testing simpler. It can also mean fewer vendors to manage and less lock-in, which is being stuck with one provider because switching is hard.

What is not clear

The recap does not say which OpenAI models are included, what any of the models cost, or how Google Cloud's options compare in price and speed with buying directly from each company. Gemini for government services is only a preview, so it is not a finished product yet.

The takeaway

If your business uses AI, Google Cloud now offers models from three major makers in one place, so compare options and costs before committing.
