Gemini Notebook, the tool formerly called NotebookLM, now lets you check the plan for a slide deck or video overview before it is built. Google calls the feature co-create. It targets a familiar problem: the first result often focuses on the wrong topic or has an odd structure, and the only fix was to start over.
What changed
You start by asking Gemini Notebook in the chat to make slides or a video. It suggests topics drawn from the material in your notebook. You can pick one or type your own. Then you choose a format and visual style, and set the length and language.
The review toggle is the key addition. When it is on, Gemini Notebook shows the slide outline or the video producer notes first. You can ask for edits, such as adding an executive summary at the start of a deck or moving a scene in a video. When the plan looks right, you click Proceed.
The step is optional. With the toggle off, Gemini Notebook builds the slides or video in one go, as before.
Who it helps
The feature is most useful if your notebook holds dozens of sources, or if your presentation has to follow a specific order. Reading an outline is much faster than waiting for a full deck to generate twice.
The material does not say whether the feature costs extra, when it reaches every user, or where it is available. Those details are not known yet.
The takeawayIf you build decks from many documents in Gemini Notebook, turn on the review toggle and fix the outline before you generate anything.
