Fresha, a booking and payments platform for beauty and wellness businesses, says it has lent more than $20 million to shops through Fresha Capital. The program launched early this year. More than 80% of borrowers sought additional financing.

What is going on

Fresha runs the lending with Adyen NV, a payments provider. In plain terms, the company that helps a shop take bookings and card payments is also offering it loans. For a small salon or spa, that can be quick and convenient. It is still worth comparing the terms with other lenders.

The material does not say what the loans cost, how repayment works, how many shops borrowed or who qualifies. The high repeat rate could mean borrowers were happy. It could also mean they needed more money. The figures do not say which.
