A food safety software company has added an AI risk score for suppliers. Share-ify, based in Orlando, Florida, announced S.A.F.E. Score on October 22, 2026. Companies that buy food or ingredients can use it to see which suppliers look riskier, based on records the system already holds or collects.
What it does
S.A.F.E. stands for Share-ify AI Forecasting Engine. It is built into the company's existing tools for supplier compliance, quality management, recalls, traceability, inspections and sharing regulatory documents. The idea is to pull scattered information into one view, so a food safety team does not have to dig through separate files.
When the system sees elevated risk, it is designed to alert the company and explain what drove the result. It also aims to help teams act faster on the suppliers or facilities that worry them most.
What it looks at
In this first release, the tool is designed to review a long list of warning signs. Some of the main ones:
- Audit scores, grades, findings and who performed the audit
- Recall history and import alerts
- Inspection outcomes, production records and item-level details
- Complaints and customer review trends
- Missing prerequisite documents and supplier location
The data comes from two places: what users upload, and what Share-ify's Data & Research team brings in. The company says the tool starts with basic supplier and audit certificate information, then gets more useful as more data is added.
Who it is for
The main users are food safety and compliance teams at restaurants, retailers, distributors and other businesses in the food supply chain. Performance Food Group, a Share-ify customer, said it expects better supplier monitoring from AI tools like this. Its quality assurance leader also called AI a new and nervous area for food companies.
Share-ify's chief operating officer, Angela Nardone, said risk insights go to the company first. That gives it a chance to look at the data and fix problems before they affect customers or trading partners.
What happens next
Share-ify's CEO, Ernesto Nardone, said the next release is targeted for January 2027. It is expected to add checks on ESG (environmental, social and governance practices), product claims, MAHA-related initiatives and Extended Producer Responsibility rules, which cover packaging and waste duties.
The announcement does not give a price, explain how the score is calculated, or say what scale it uses. It also does not say whether suppliers can see or challenge their own scores.
The takeawayIf you sell to food buyers, expect automated risk checks on your records, so keep audits, certificates and required paperwork current.
