Firefox's AI browsing mode, called Smart Window, can now fill out online forms for you and keep an eye on web pages. Mozilla says it can pull your work history from a portfolio or LinkedIn tab and paste it into a job application. It can also alert you when a sale or a new job listing shows up.
How form filling works
The option shows up when you click into a form with at least four text fields. You will see a button called "Fill from sources," along with a list of the tabs Firefox plans to draw from. You can select or deselect tabs. Firefox then writes suggestions based on what is in them.
For now it handles text fields only. Mozilla says it is working on support for dropdown menus and PDFs.
How page watching works
To set up a watch, type "/watch" in the Smart Window chat, describe what you want to track, and add the pages to monitor. Firefox checks daily or weekly. It only checks while the browser is open.
- Alerts arrive through the Tasks button on the toolbar.
- They also appear on your desktop if you have desktop notifications turned on.
- Watching pauses after 60 days with no change and stops fully after 90 days.
The privacy catch
Mozilla notes that data from your source pages is shared with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite. That is the AI model that writes the text suggestions. In practice, whatever is on the tabs you pick is sent to Google's model for this feature to work. The material does not say how long that data is kept.
Who can try it
Both features are rolling out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the US and Canada. Other countries will get them in the "coming months," according to the report. Pricing was not mentioned.
What to do
If you try form filling, choose your tabs with care. A public portfolio page is a different matter from a tab showing personal or financial details. Deselect anything you would not want to hand to an outside AI service.
The takeawayFirefox's new AI form filling and page watching can save time, but only pick tabs you are comfortable sending to Google's AI.
