Figure Technology Solutions says its small business lending arm funded more than $50 million in a single month, September 2026. That is up to $135 million for the third quarter, and the company says its yearly pace now tops $500 million. The loans are home equity lines of credit, which let owners borrow against the value of their homes and use the money for a business.
What happened
Figure started this small business line in June 2025. The company says it runs on the same technology it uses for its other home equity credit lines, which it says have facilitated more than $30 billion in loans. The numbers come from Figure's own announcement, not an outside review.
How the loans work
- Loans go up to $750,000.
- Terms run up to 30 years.
- Approval can come in as few as five minutes.
- Funding can arrive in as few as five days.
Owners usually do not apply to Figure directly. Partners such as brokers, lenders and fintech firms build the product into their own services, often under their own brands. Figure says it has more than 150 of these partners. It provides the loan technology behind the scenes.
Why demand is growing
Figure points to a surge in new businesses. Census Bureau data cited in the release shows about 27 million business applications from 2021 through 2025, versus 17.6 million in the previous five years. The company also says fewer than half of owners get the credit they want. Nearly seven in 10 small business owners own their home, and total U.S. home equity reached $35 trillion in the second quarter of 2026.
Figure's CEO, Michael Tannenbaum, says many owners are well qualified but do not fit traditional lending rules. He says Figure's network, measured against SBA 7(a) lender rankings, would place in the top 25. The SBA 7(a) is a well-known government-backed small business loan program.
What to weigh
A home equity line of credit is secured by your house. If a business struggles and the debt cannot be repaid, the home is at stake. Speed is useful when cash is tight, but it can also make it easy to borrow without thinking through the risk. Comparing offers and reading the full terms still matters.
What is not known
The announcement does not give interest rates, fees or repayment results. It does not say who qualifies or how many borrowers fall behind. Those details would help owners judge whether the speed is worth the cost.
The takeawayFast home-equity money can help a small business, but your house backs the loan, so check rates, fees and your repayment plan before you borrow.
