ESET, a cybersecurity company, announced new protection for people who use AI chatbots. Its software will scan links and code in ChatGPT replies and warn you if something looks unsafe. A free online tool will also check AI add-ons before you install them. The upgrades cover ESET HOME Security and ESET Small Business Security, and were announced on Oct. 27, 2026.
What changed
ESET calls the new layer AI Security. It has four parts. The company says scammers are using AI to make more convincing scams and to find new ways in.
- AI Conversation Security checks links in ChatGPT replies and flags ones from phishing or malicious sources.
- It also scans scripts, which are small programs, that a chatbot writes, to stop harmful code from running.
- AI Agent Security watches what AI agents access and download before anything runs.
- AI Behavioral Monitoring looks for unusual actions or suspicious downloads by AI agents.
Gemini and Copilot are to be added to the conversation checks soon. ESET gave no date.
The free add-on checker
AI Skills Checker is a free online tool. Skills are add-ons that give AI tools extra abilities. The checker scans a skill for signs of malicious activity and risky behavior before you install and use it. It is built on the same technology as AI Agent Security.
iPhone app and small business tools
ESET is also launching ESET Mobile Security for iOS, with free and premium versions. It is pending Apple App Store approval, and availability may vary by region.
- Free: Link Checker, which tests a link against ESET's database of malicious links.
- Free: Device Scan and Device Settings Check, which look for weak or misconfigured settings.
- Premium: Anti-Phishing for Safari, which blocks malicious pages before they load.
- Premium: Connection Security, which flags risky Wi-Fi and lets you keep a list of trusted networks.
ESET Small Business Security adds Web Control. Owners can set which web pages staff can reach, such as blocking dangerous or inappropriate content, or pages that hurt productivity. Both product lines also get Browser Screen Protection, meant to safeguard sensitive data online.
What is not known yet
The announcement does not give prices, an iPhone release date, or a date for Gemini and Copilot support. It also does not explain how Browser Screen Protection works. ESET points readers to its ESET HOME and Small Business Security pages for subscription details.
The takeawayIf you or your staff use AI tools, check links and add-ons before you click or install, and watch for ESET's iPhone app and Gemini and Copilot support.
