Claude, the AI assistant from Anthropic, can now be extended with add-ons for marketing jobs like drafting content, planning campaigns, and reporting. The most concrete example is HubSpot's connector, which lets Claude work with customer records stored in HubSpot. The details come from a guide on HubSpot's own blog.

What these add-ons are

Anthropic describes a plugin as a reusable package that bundles skills, connectors, slash commands, and sub-agents into one install. In plain terms, it turns Claude into a specialist for one role or task. A connector is narrower. It gives Claude access to one outside tool or data source.

The guide lists several options: HubSpot's connector, Anthropic's Marketing plugin, reusable brand skills, analytics tools, publishing connections, and Claude's design features. Not all of them are technically plugins. Which one fits depends on the job you want done.

What the HubSpot connector does

HubSpot calls it the first CRM connector for Claude. A CRM is the system where a company keeps its customer records. With permission, Claude can look at contacts, companies, deals, campaigns, marketing emails, and blog posts. You can ask questions in plain language and get charts and analysis back.

It can also act. Claude can create and update CRM records, marketing emails, landing pages, and blog posts. It can create campaigns and marketing events. It cannot delete anything. The connector is available on all HubSpot editions.

What it costs and what to check

Plugins need a paid Claude plan: Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise. You can find plugins, skills, and connectors in one place under Claude's Customize menu.

HubSpot recommends setting the connector's write tools to require approval before Claude changes anything. That means Claude asks first, and a person confirms. It is a sensible default when the tool can edit live customer records and published pages.

Why the timing makes sense

HubSpot's 2026 State of Marketing Report found that 80% of marketers use AI to create content. It also found that 67% say AI saves their teams at least 10 hours a week. Since the guide comes from HubSpot, which sells the connector it recommends, weigh its picks with that in mind.

The takeaway

If you try the HubSpot connector, set Claude to ask for approval before it changes anything in your customer records.
