Google is testing a new look for the Settings menu in Chrome on Android. The new icons look a lot like the ones Apple uses on iPhones. Android Authority reported the change on November 6, 2026, and says the makeover is taking shape in Canary.
What changed
Settings is the screen where you adjust how Chrome works. The test swaps in a new set of small icons beside each menu item. Based on the report, the new icons resemble the style Apple uses in its own Settings screen on iPhones. The change is about appearance only.
What Canary means
Canary is an early test version of Chrome. Google uses it to try out ideas before they reach most people. Features that show up there can change or be dropped before a wider release. Seeing the new icons in Canary does not guarantee that everyone will get them.
Who it affects
Anyone who uses Chrome on Android could eventually see the new Settings screen, if the change ships. Nothing changes in how your browsing works. Your tabs, bookmarks and saved logins are not part of this test.
What is not known yet
- Whether the new icons will reach the regular version of Chrome
- When any wider rollout might happen
- Whether Google will change the design before release
For now, nothing needs to be done. If the look does change, it should only take a moment to get used to the new icons.
The takeawayChrome's Settings screen on Android may soon look different, but this is an early test and nothing about how you browse changes.
