OpenAI has added team features to ChatGPT Slides, its tool for building presentations. Several people can now work on the same deck at once, leave comments, and ask ChatGPT to act on the feedback.
What changed
The person who made a deck can share it and set what each colleague can do: view, comment or edit. Collaborators can discuss changes in comments. They can also tag ChatGPT in a comment and ask for new wording or a changed chart. OpenAI's Dots, an AI agent built to handle ongoing tasks, can also be given work that comes out of feedback.
- Start from a past conversation, a shared file, an outline or a template.
- Upload an example deck for ChatGPT to copy in style and layout.
- Add custom visuals or your own photos.
- Run the finished deck inside ChatGPT, or export it to PowerPoint or Google Slides, still editable.
OpenAI points to quarterly business reviews, product launch decks, turning numbers into charts, and speaker notes with key talking points. Slides is part of ChatGPT Space, OpenAI's workspace for bringing teams, files and ChatGPT together.
What is not known yet
The report does not say what the feature costs, which ChatGPT plans include it, or when everyone will get it. It also does not test how well ChatGPT handles edits requested in comments, so results may vary.
The takeawayIf your team builds pitch decks or reports, ChatGPT Slides may speed up drafting and revising, and exports still open in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
