Bluesky is rolling out a "moderation inbox," a single place in its app to see what happened to reports you filed and to your own account. It is a beta feature, so it is off until you switch it on. It also lets you appeal most decisions without leaving the app.
What changed
The inbox gathers reports you have filed about other users and posts, actions taken against your account, and your overall standing on the platform. Suspensions are the exception. Those are still handled at the login screen.
- Turn on beta features in the app's Settings menu.
- Find the inbox under the Moderation tools menu.
- Expect it to be empty at first, even if you already have a strike.
It fills up as you file reports, as Bluesky acts on your account, or as it applies labels to your posts.
Why it matters
Bluesky says it used to share moderation decisions by email. That made it hard to reach people on independent servers, and email was often saved for serious decisions. Now anyone using the app can get a notification, and the company can share each step without filling up an email inbox.
The company has drawn criticism over moderation. In 2025, The Guardian reported that its automated spam system often deactivated accounts of Palestinians crowdfunding for supplies. Clearer notices and appeals might ease some of that. The material does not say when the beta will end or whether appeals will change outcomes. The same update adds an optional home screen widget that shows trending topics.
The takeawayIf you use Bluesky, turn on beta features in Settings to find the moderation inbox, but expect it to start empty.
