Anthropic's document tools in Claude, called Docs, Slides and Design, are now on every Claude plan, including Free. The company also released a small model, Claude Haiku 5.5, on 7 October. It has not published a price for it, or a date when developers can use it.
What changed
Anthropic's news page, read on 23 October, lists seven announcements dated 7 to 22 October. Only one is a model. The flagship, Claude Opus 5.5, is not among them. The rest are mostly products and company moves.
- Claude Haiku 5.5, a small model, on 7 October
- Docs, Slides and Design leave beta and join every plan
- Code Review is generally available on Team and Enterprise
- 5% of company shares committed to a new public benefit fund
- A consumer agent waitlist, a security product in public beta, and an open standard donated to a foundation
The small model
Anthropic calls Haiku 5.5 its fastest, most capable small model. It names three jobs: summarizing, subagents (helper programs that handle steps of a bigger task) and browser use. The claim compares Anthropic's models with each other, and no outside test comes with it. Missing from the announcement: price, context window and a date for developers. Check prices before moving any big job.
Documents and code review
For Free users, the change removes a reason to pay. Anyone choosing between Free and Pro based on the document tools no longer has to. Two more tools, Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion, entered beta, but Anthropic does not say which plans get them.
Code Review reaching general availability means it moves from preview to a product with support behind it. No price is given. The Claude Code team also published a post on how it reviews code. By its own count, Claude writes about 90% of Claude Code's code. From June to September, merged pull requests more than doubled, and the share of changes reverted fell by more than 40%. Those figures describe one team and have no outside audit.
The share commitment
Anthropic committed 5% of its shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new, wholly owned company. Stockholders still have to approve it. The board may add 2% more for every 50% rise in company value above a set baseline. Anthropic says the structure increases the stake as the company grows.
What is not known
The announcements show what was declared, not what has shipped. Several end without a date, price or plan list. Anthropic has not published Haiku 5.5 pricing, a developer release date, or Code Review pricing.
The takeawayClaude's document tools are free on every plan now, but wait for Haiku 5.5 pricing before moving any large job to it.
